Karin L. Wertheim, CLTC, LTCP- has an extensive background in the financial services industry. In 2003, as President of Custom Care Solution, LLC. she identified the need for a long-term care specialist agency in the New York City area. She successfully negotiated several Master General Agent contracts making CCS a distributor for MetLife, MedAmerica, GE Capital, John Hancock, Prudential, TransAmerica, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), State Life, UNUM/Provident, Allianz, Lincoln Benefit and Penn Treaty. She has held her Series 7 securities license for nearly 20 years as well as her life and health licenses. Karin spent 15 years working for several prestigious firms on Wall Street. Her career began at Merrill Lynch at the age of 19, by 22 she had joined UBS Paine Webber where she spent the next eleven years as Vice President of Fixed Income Sales on the institutional side of the business. She left Wall Street to start her own company in 1997. The next three years were spent as co-founder and CEO of Foodservice.com, Inc. the leading business-to-business company created for the $400 billion a year foodservice industry. In the role of CEO, Karin's responsibilities included raising money, striking strategic alliances, as well as creating new revenue sources and business models. She was the sole negotiator involved in the acquisition of Foodservice.com, Inc. by Foodbuy LLC. Now located in Atlanta, Georgia, Foodbuy, LLC has over 200 employees and is the largest group purchasing entity in the world for the foodservice industry.
Debra A. Walker, CLTC, LTCP, CLU, LUTCF, has over 14 years of experience in the long-term care insurance industry. She began her career as a Marketing Representative with John Hancock Financial Services where she marketed Long-Term Care insurance to consumers. Debra was then hired to start up a long-term care agency, in upstate NY. There she was responsible for training and recruiting brokers as well as management of the staff. During her tenure LTC sales soared to over $4 million and the agency received several sales awards from leading companies including Travelers, American Progressive and UNUM Provident. Prior to becoming the COO of Custom Care Solution, LLC., her latest venture was on the carrier side of the long-term care business. She was the Regional Sales Manager for MetLife Long-Term Care Brokerage Unit for NY and NJ Region. While employed with MetLife she was responsible for over $3 Million in sales and was consistently a top Sales Manager. Debra is a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and National Association of Health Underwriters, where she currently holds the position of President for the Northeastern NY Chapter. She is the Vice-President of the New York State Association of Health Underwriters. She sits on the Board of Directors of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance and also the Northeastern New York Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
